Very Merry Christmas (Ornaments)!
It is that time of the year again. Never enough time, money, or sanity, but you will make until Christmas break. Hang in there.
This week is always CRAZY! I have the always revolving list of things to do:
This week is always CRAZY! I have the always revolving list of things to do:
I need to wrap presents for my family and my students.
I need to send home reminder notes to parents about parties and programs.
I need to buy an ornament for our faculty Christmas party for tonight (YIKES!).
I need to make presents for my students' parents, but wait that's the fun part.
That is what this post is about: Salt Dough Ornaments!
This recipe is super easy and fast. It is 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt, and 1/2 cup of water. Roll out the dough then use cookie cutters to create your own designs. Then bake for 3 hours at 300 degrees, but flip halfway through to make sure that they dry out. I put my students into groups where they are facing each other. Then the group members measure the ingredients, mixing and rolling out the dough. Then they get to choose from all of my cookie cutters. They had a blast making them. Please excuse the blurry faces, but I wanted to make sure that you couldn't tell who was who.
So, don't be afraid to try them out. Merry Christmas.
